Emma sound has been a fixture and pioneer on the Female NYC roots, and world beat underground scene. Schooling at the controvertial Bulgarian Bar (mehanata), after 15 years of tireless music research and with the tutorial support of legendary dj Hutz (Gogol Bordello) and versatile dj Dubta (Gogol Bordello), She has made it to the stage and dj booth in a constant basis at club Midway, Lounge and Mehanata. Sharing with artist and djs such as legendary dj Scratchy (U.K), dj Joro Boro, Eclectica, Vector Zero and more. Engaged in several musical projects, collectives and bands, she keeps herself very active in the underground NYC scene, not only as a dj, but also as a performer (Juglares empiricos, Escarioka sound system, Chasqui Hi fi, La 15 provee and U.C.N.Y.collective) event producer (Rebel roots Fest) and resource provider for foreing bands and artists. Emma sound has also collaborated in the research and selection of music for the soundtack of the documentary "Alligator on the Zipper" (produced and directed by Ivo Stainoff and Jessica Chorneski). Her main focus at the moment is to keep up the cultural and conscious education process that music provides. Books are very helpfull, but the real facts of cultural and historical events throughtout the eras, she has found in lyrics and music of all times. EMANCIPATION has been the inspiration for this project were everybody who cares about everybody, is welcome to participate, but most of all, everybody who loves and lives music, is needed to participate.
