LAMATUMBÁ sails around in an unstoppable way with their first disc "lume (para que saia o sol)", a tale of fire and suns, a trip that fills our ears with musics from all over the world, adorned with the flavour of the closest Galician music. LAMATUMBÁ is already an unavoidable reference of the new Galician music scene on the 21st century and they have been consolidated as the most venerated Galician band last 2006. The engines work now with more force than ever, after travelling for the whole Spain with the re-edition of "Lume (para que saia o sol)!" (falcatruada, 06), with new incorporations to the formation and, especially, with the heat of undiscovered album in many corners of Europe.
Following the spirit of ‘Cuco de Velle’ (a local tavern where the old men sit around a table to sing), Lamatumbá is the freshest and most irreverent offer of the current Galician scene. An original mixture of reggae, samba, rumba and rock that surprises because of its own character. Since 1998, Lamatumbá is synonymous of party everywhere they go: it’s the date of their debut in the mythical Moucho (a pub from their hometown, Ourense), the same year when they collaborate in the Feira das Mentiras organized by Manu Chao in Santiago de Compostela.
The complete crew is composed by Pedro (bass), Sergio (voice), Toño and Rafita (guitars), Angel (sax and clarinet), Nico (trumpet), Iván (sax), Carlos 'Puntxa' (percussion) and Adrián 'Txitxas' (battery). They are the protagonists of a history with many chapters already without writing: they will demonstrate it with Lume (para que saia o sol)!, a sincere disc and full of party in its own, an album to dance every kind of people, from young ones to eldest. Nowadays, they´re beginning a tour which will take them for Galicia, Asturias, Andalusia, Basque Country, Catalunya … and the Popkomm of Berlin (September 19th).
